A REVIEW ON PHARMACOLOGICAL AND PHYTOCHEMICAL ACTIVITIES OF DELONIX REGIA

ABSTRACT

Delonix is a genus of flowering plants in the pea family Fabaceae and subfamily Caesalpinioideae. It is well known as ‘Gulmohar.’ in Hindi. The plant of Delonix regia Rafin. is used as Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic, Hepatoprotective, Nephroprotective and Anti-oxidant Agent. Many different types of active Phytoconstituents are present in Delonix regia plants. For example, the flowers of the plant contain flavonol and glycosides, while the seeds and fruit include fatty acids, amino acids, carbohydrates, and tannins. The aim of this review was to collect all available scientific literature published and combine it into this review. Present review comprises the pharmacological and phytochemical potential of Delonix regia. An exhaustive survey ofliterature revealed that overdosing on medications, exposure to toxins, or some therapeutic agents can often result in Kidney Failure, which is also referred to as Kidney damage or Nephrotoxicity.
