ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR DIAGNOSIS OF GASTRO-ESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE: AN OVERVIEW
Anika*, Kritika Garg, Jatin Verma and Navdeep Singh
ABSTRACT Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic condition in which stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, leading to irritation and discomfort. Common symptoms include heartburn, regurgitation of acid, difficulty swallowing, and sometimes chest pain. GERD can also cause chronic coughing, hoarseness, and a sensation of a lump in the throat. Managing GERD often involves lifestyle changes, such as avoiding trigger foods, eating smaller meals, and elevating the head of the bed. Medical treatments may include antacids, H2 blockers, and proton pump inhibitors to reduce acid production and protect the esophagus. For many, GERD requires ongoing management to prevent complications and maintain comfort. If symptoms are severe or persistent, it's important to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation and treatment. Keywords: Reflux esophagitis, bloating, epigastric pain, Inflammation.
