Renjini A. S.*, Celestin Baboo R. V. and Sirajudheen M. K.
ABSTRACT This review paper describes the formulation and evaluation of a cream by using the methanolic extract of leaves of Adenocalymma alliaceum and Turbinaria ornata. Is a plant belonging to the family Bignoniaceae commonly called as „Garlic vine‟ and or „false garlic‟. Turbinaria ornata (T. ornata) is one of the main seaweeds in the marine ecosystem that has been used as a source of medicine among brown seaweeds. These brown algae belong to the family Sargassaceae. This review paper discusses in detail study of formulation and evaluation of cream. Here medicated cream of methanolic extract was prepared at various concentrations. After formulation it was evaluated for various physicochemical parameters and in-vitro anti-arthritic activity by protein denaturation inhibition method was conducted. Results shows that the cream have anti-arthritic activity and it is physically stable. Keywords: Adenocalymma alliaceum, Cream, Evaluation, Formulation, Turbinaria ornate.
