CASE STUDY ON – MESMERIZING RESULT IN GRIDRASI BY SWARNA SHALAKA AGNIKARMA AND VIDDHAKARMA

ABSTRACT

In this case study, a 65 years old female patient came with the Complaints of severe back pain which is radiating to right side from Kati to Paada in the past 4 months. Which is aggravated in the last 3 months, symptoms are cause problem in routine work from 15 days, based on clinical signs and symptoms patient was diagnosed with Gridrasi. Patient was intended to treat with Ayurvedic line of treatment. Gridrasi is one of the Vata Vyadi with dominance of Vata and Kapha Dosha. The patient become non responsive to allopathy medicines hence came to Ayurvedic management. Various Ayurvedic treatments modalities are currently in practice with a better outcome. The present case was treated with Viddhakarma and Agni Karma by using Swarna Shalaka for 3 days and oral medications for a week, Patient's condition was assessed for improvement in clinical signs andsymptoms of Gridrasi (Sciatica) with maintenance of photographic and videographic evidence. This study showed encouraging results, so that Sciatica can be successfully managed with Viddha - Agni karma along with oral drugs alone.
