Abstract

COVID-19: A SCHOLARLY REVIEW OF PANDEMIC INSIGHTS AND IMPLICATIONS

ABSTRACT

In early December 2019, an outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by a novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), occurred in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and On starting of the next year about 49,053 laboratory-confirmed cases and 1,381 deaths have been reported globally by WHO. Coronaviruses (CoV) belong to the genus Coronavirus with its high mutation rate in the Coronaviridae family. This article summarises a brief overview and important knowledge about COVID-19 like origin and characteristics of this particular virus, symptoms, spreading, laboratory analysis, prevention and treatments for this viral disease.
