BIO- CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF ELATHY MATHIRAI

ABSTRACT

The Siddha system of medicine is a traditional medical system, which provides "Holistic Health". This system also offers effective treatment options for various common ailments, helps to improve the quality of life by better management of lifestyle disorders and illness of various system of the body. ”ELATHY MATHIRAI” is a siddha pure herbal formulation which is indicated in the text book “BALA VAGADAMin treating Vida sanni, Kulir suram and Vikkal. Elathy Mathirai" is prepared by Combination of Thirikadugu, Jathikai, Kirambu, Elam, Kadugu rohini, Manjal, Nabhi were purified. Then crushed all the drugs and grinded it with Elumichampalam chaaru and prepared as a Mathirai. The objective of the study is to evaluate the compounds present in the herbal Siddha formulation Elathy Mathirai. The biochemical analysis of Elathy mathirai reveals the present of Calcium, Sulphate, Chloride, Amini acid. The compounds present in theMathirai will enhance the therapeutic action of the drug.
