ABSTRACT Recombinant protein production has revolutionized various fields, including medicine, agriculture, and industrial processing. This article provides a comprehensive overview of recombinant proteins, their production, and associated challenges. It discusses the types of recombinant proteins, including therapeutic proteins, industrial enzymes, diagnostic proteins, research tools, vaccines, biomaterials, bioengineering, biosensors, and biocatalysts. The article also covers the methods of protein expression, including bacterial, yeast, and mammalian cells, and the factors to consider when choosing a host cell. Additionally, it highlights the importance of optimizing protein expression conditions, such as inducer concentration, temperature, and duration of induction, to achieve high yields and solubility.
