ABSTRACT

The sandalwood tree, botanically Santalum collection L having a place to family Santalaceae, too known as Chandana in India. The normal abdicate of oilranges from 4.5-5%. The sweet capable and enduring odour makes Sandalwood oil valuable in aroma industry. The fragrant parts of sandalwood oil constitutes of a and b santalols. Sandalwood oil, has been detailed for antiviral movement against Herpes simplex infections 1 and 2, anticancer, creepy crawlies repellent property, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and antibacterial etc. So the shoe wood oil has incredible potential for pharmaceuticals and businesses in display and future.
