CONCEPT OF SANDHI SHAREERA W. S. R. TO PRATARA SANDHI W. S. R. TO CONTEMPORARY ARTHROLOGY

ABSTRACT
In ancient Ayurvedic text Sushruta Samhita – Shareera Sthana in fifth chapter named Sharira Samkhya Vyakarana Shareera, Acharya Sushruta has mentioned various types of Sandhi and its enumeration. Classification of sandhi has been mentioned on the basis of movements of joints, on the basis of Aakruti of Sandhi i.e. structure, etc. The meaning of the word Sandhi is the assembly point of two or more structure that means to unite. As we know, the human body is mainly supported by the bones which does Dharana of the human body. These bones are interconnected with the help of various joints, because of which these joints are joined together and able to hold the body in a proper posture. This article lays emphasis on the types of Sandhi according to Ayurvedic perspective w. s. r. to Pratara Sandhi and its correlation with contemporary arthrology. This article describes the various aspects of Sandhi mainly Pratara Sandhi in all respects to structure, types etc. Since description of Sandhi and its types is present
in both the sciences, so an attempt is made in this article to correlate and compare Sandhi with Arthrology.
