ABSTRACT
Pregabalin is a well-established anticonvulsant and analgesic agent. Pregabalin works by binding to a protein called the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channel in the central nervous system. This binding reduces the releases of certain neurotransmitters such as glutamate, norepinephrine, and substance P, which play major role in pain transmission. Etoricoxib is a highly selective COX-2inhibitor NSAIDs. Etoricoxib works by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). COX-2 is involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are substances that contribute to inflammation and pain. By inhibiting COX-2, etoricoxib reduces the production of prostaglandins, leading to a decrease in pain and inflammation. High Performance Liquid Chromatography is a popular analytical technique used for the separation, identification, quantification of each constituent of mixture. Method validation is the process of establishing the performance characteristics and limitationsof a method and identification of the influence which may change these characteristics. This article gives you a brief review on various HPLC method used for estimation of pregabalin and etoricoxib and their results of estimation. The test results are directly proportional to the test concentration is analyte. The accuracy results are from 98-102%.
