NOVEL METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF BETAHISTINE DIHYDROCHLORIDE IN PHARMACEUTICAL SOLID DOSAGE FORM BY RP- HPLC METHOD

ABSTRACT

A simple method HPLC system for the quantification of Betahistine in antivertigo drug product was developed and validated. The chromatographic separation of Betahistine was carried out using column Phenyl Hexyl 250 mm X 4.6 mm, 5 μ), UV detection at 260 nm, and an isocratic System with composed of mobile phase of buffer and methanol in the ratio of 70:30 %v/v at a flow rate of 1.0ml/min, Column Temperature was kept at 30°C and injection volume was 10µl. The retention time of Betahistine was about 2.8 minutes.
