UTILIZATION AND ADVERSE EFFECTS OF ANTIBIOTICS

ABSTRACT
Antibiotics are substances produced by living things, usually microorganisms, that are toxic to other bacteria. Review data for the study was gathered and published in review articles between 2001 and 2023. The study's discussion The review article's analysis covered the years 2020–2023. The year 2020 saw a higher use of antibiotics (91.04%) than the years 2021 (83.55%), 2022 (73.52%), and 2023 (75%). This is likely because antibiotics are used during pandemics to treat COVID-19. The side effects are displayed for every antibiotic drug class. The side effects of sulfonamides include stomach cramps, blood in urine, mental changes in 2021, abdominal tenderness, anorexia, abdominal pain, photosensitivity in 2022, and 2023, and dizziness in 2020. Every drug class that includes antibiotics has side effects. The side effects associated with sulfonamides include stomach
cramps, blood in urine, mental changes, abdominal tenderness, anorexia, and dizziness/photosensitivity in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
