Abstract

ESTIMATE SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE (SLS), PH VALUES, (TDS) IN COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS OF TOOTHPASTE, SHAMPOO, DETERGENTS (SOAP AND HAND LOTION) SAMPLES

ABSTRACT

The contents of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), pH values, (TDS) in commercial products of Toothpaste, shampoo, detergents (soap and hand lotion) were measured in different samples collected from pharmacies of Libya, the results recorded and different contents of SLS in the selected, The results obtained in this there are wide variations of SLS in the both tooth paste and detergent samples, also the pH values and TDS contents showed wide variations. The harmful of SLS in the tooth paste is concerned with the values given by WHO, also the effect of pH during the uses of these detergents on human body, generally the study concluded that there are many brands of Tooth paste and detergents have negative effecting on the human health.

Keywords: The results obtained in this there are wide variations of SLS in the both tooth paste and detergent samples, also the pH values and TDS contents showed wide variations.
