ABSTRACT
Antipsychotic drugs and mood stabilizers as mono or combination therapy are first-line agents in the treatment of the manic phase of bipolar I disorder. Endoxifen a potent inhibitor of the protein kinase C (PKC) signaling pathway, is efficacious in the control of acute bipolar mania, at doses of 8 mg, for a period of 3-weeks. However, there is a dearth of data about the long-term use of endoxifen. Here we describe a case of acute bipolar mania not able to tolerate clozapine therapy, efficaciously controlled with long-term use (9-weeks) of endoxifen8 mg, without any adverse effects, along with complete remission of manic symptoms.
