ABSTRACT
Background: Gokshura (Bruhata) (Pedalium murex Linn.), A medicinal plant that belongs to the Pedaliaceae family. Traditionally being used by Vaidya’s for the management of various conditions like Mutrakrichha (dysuria), Prameha (Diabetes), Kasa (Cough), Shwasa (Asthma), Hridaroga (Cardiac disorders) etc. Out of its all-therapeutic uses, a drug is well known for its Vrishya property. Material & Method: Available Samhitas were used to gather information about Gokshura (Bruhata) (Pedalium murex Linn.). Observation & Result: Citing various Samhitas add detail to Gokshura (Bruhata) (Pedalium murex Linn.), wide range of dosage forms and formulations with Clinical applications. Discussion: The data of Gokshura (Bruhata) (Pedalium murex Linn.), has been collected, classify and described in such a way that can help everyone to read it and easily interpret it. wide range of clinical formulations and dosage form have been found. Conclusion: Based on this Samhita review of Gokshura (Bruhata) (Pedalium murex Linn.), it can be concluded that according to Samhitas there are various dosage forms and formulations that can be used as per conditions and palatability in clinical practice.
