REVIEW ARTICLE ON CONCEPT OF CHAKSHUSHYA DRAVYA AND ITS ACTION FOR HEALTH PROMOTION OF CHAKSHU (EYE)

ABSTRACT

Eye is one of the sensitive organ permanently exposed to different environmental agent. To take care of our eyes our acharya's describe chakshushya dravya and other rejuvenating medicines to nourish damage and weakened retinal tissue. Chakshushya means promotion of eye health. Today due to lifestyle modification eye has become more susceptible to various ocular disease. Chakshushya dravya plays major role in prevention and promotion of ocular health. Chakshu means eye and chakshushya means beneficial for eyes. These drugs having antioxidant, neuro protective, healing and immunity enhancing ability. Here in present article an attempt for a critical analysis on chakshushya dravya & their line of action on the basis of raspanchak is made.
