CLASSICAL RELOOK OF BRUHATA GOKSHURA (PEDALIUM MUREX LINN.) FROM DIFFERENT NIGHANTUS: A REVIEW STUDY

ABSTRACT

Background: Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.), a plant belongs to the Pedaliaceae family. In india Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.) is being used since long time in various diseases. Material & Method: All the available Nighantus were referred for gathering the data regarding Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.). Observation & Result: Referring various Nighantus in detail gives vital information about the Synonyms, Rasapanchaka, Karma (Action) and Rogaghnata (Indication) of Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.). Discussion: Various information of Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.) is gathered from 24 different Nighantus. Till date no detailed review analysis from Nighantus has been carried out on Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.). Conclusion: From this review study, information regarding synonyms, properties and actions which may help in easy identification of drug has been gathered. Also, Bruhata Gokshura (Pedalium murex Linn.) can be explored in detail for the indications mentioned by conducting experimental and clinical study.
