Abstract

RICE WATER

ABSTRACT

The king of cereals is regarded as being rice. It is the only cereal that is eaten by half of the world’s population. There may be heath advantages to rice and rice based products. This article discusses rice washed water as one such rice based product. Since ancient times, rice has been used to treat skin and hair conditions. The water left behind after processing rice may be used in cosmetic formulations. One of the major components of rice water is starch, which gives it a slightly thick and cloudy appearance. This starch content makes rice water an effective remedy for treating various skin conditions. It has been found to have soothing and anti-inflammatory effect, making it useful for alleviating skin irritation, redness and itching. Additionally, rice water contains antioxidants that help protect the skin from damage caused by
free radicals and environmental pollutants. Rice water has also gained popularity for its hair care benefits. When used as a hair wash or rinse, it can help improve hair strength, reduce breakage and enhance shine. The amino acids present in rice water can penetrate the hair strands, providing nourishment and promoting hair growth. Further more, the presence of inositol, a carbohydrate found in rice water, can repair damaged hair and prevent frizz. Apart from its skincare and hair care benefits, rice t has been used as a traditional remedy for digestive disorders. Its high fiber content helps regulate bowel movements and aids in digestive. Its is often consumed as a refreshing beverage or added to soups and other dishes.
