Abstract

FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL FACE SCRUB USING RICE POWDER AS EXFOLIATING AGENT

Suman Chakraborty, Priya Kumari Sinha* and Dr. Kavitha P N.

ABSTRACT

In our daily life to maintain healthy and nourished skin, regular cleansing is essential. This process removes dirt, dead skin cells, and other substances from the skin. Cosmetic products play a major role in making skin look and feel beautiful. In recent years, herbal cosmeceuticals have become increasingly popular due to their lack of side effects. These products typically contain plant components that possess antimicrobial properties, antiaging properties, antiacne properties, and antioxidant properties. Research has demonstrated the benefits of rice, such as minimizing skin damage caused by harsh soap, and removing tanning caused by sun exposure. In order to address issues such as blackheads, whiteheads, and acne, scrubbing has become a useful tool. To demonstrate the cleansing and glowing action of herbal facial scrubs, four different formulations have been developed. This formulation was then tested for various parameters, including physical appearance, Homogeneity, Spreadability, Washability, and Grittiness. This study provides evidence that natural exfoliating substances, such as herbal face scrubs, can be more effective in addressing a variety of skin issues.
