REVIEW – RELATIONSHIP OF NATURAL COMPOUND POLYPHENOLS WITH OXIDATIVE STRESS AND INFLAMMATION
Kulwinder Kaur and Dr. Chandan Kumar Jha*
ABSTRACT
Oxidative stress is considered an imbalance between the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and their removal by protective mechanisms, and can lead to chronic inflammation. Oxidative stress and inflammation are involved in the pathogenesis of many diseases. Polyphenols have been proposed as a useful adjunctive therapy due to their antioxidant activity and potential anti-inflammatory effects related to inhibition of enzymes involved in eicosanoid production. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of polyphenols with their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to inhibit molecular signalling pathways activated by oxidative stress, and the potential role of polyphenols in inflammation-mediated chronic diseases. Is to This kind of review data will help in the development of future antioxidant therapies and new anti-inflammatory drugs.
