A REVIEW ON:- BEMPEDOIC ACID IS A NOVEL THERAPY IN LIPID MANAGEMENT

ABSTRACT

Bempedoic acid is a non-statin antihyperlipidaemia drug being developed by Esperion therapeutics for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia. short-term studies have shown that bempedoic acid, an inhibitor of ATP citrate lyase, reduces levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. Bempedoic acid is a novel hypolipidemic drug that inhibits the enzymatic activity of ATP citrate lyase in the cholesterol synthesis pathway. CLEAR Harmony. CLEAR wisdom, CLEAR Tranquility and CLEAR Serenity have shown safety and efficiency associated with long term administration of this drug Data are limited regarding the safety and efficacy of bempedoic acid treatment in long-term studies involving patients with hypercholesterolemia who are receiving guideline-recommended statin therapy.
