Abstract

PROTOCOL OF COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF CHAKRAMARD OINTMENT AND PSORALIN OINTMENT ALONG WITH GUDUCHI CAPSULE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KITIBHA KUSTHA (PSORIASIS)

ABSTRACT

In Ayurveda all the Skin disorders are explained under Kustharogaadhikar and classified as 7 Mahakusthas and 11 Kshudrakusthas. Kitibhakustha is one among the KshudraKusthas and is characterized by symptoms like Shyavam (blackish brown/ash colour lesions), Kina Rauksham (hard and dry in nature), Kharasparsha(rough on touch), Ugrakandu(excessive itching) with predominance of Vata and Kaphadoshas. Due to similarities in symptoms it can be correlated to Plaque Psoriasis. It is chronic in nature and mainly caused due to autoimmune factor characterized by sharply defined erythematous squamous lesion, reddish scaly patches on the skin. Aim and Objectives: Comparative evaluation of Chakramard Ointment and Psoralin Ointment along with Guduchi capsule in the management of Kitibhakustha (Psoriasis). Methods: Study contains 60 patients of Kitibha kustha which will be divided at way into two groups (each group contain 30). In Group A (Intervention)-Chakramarda ointment sufficient for local application at morning and Guduchi capsule 1gm thrice a day after meal with warm water for 30 days and Group B (Standard control group) will be given Psoralin Ointment quantity sufficient for local application at morning and Guduchi capsule 1gm thrice a day after meal with warm water for 30 days. Assessment will be recorded on 0,30thday. Result and Observations: Data will be collected in the form of Subjective and Objectives outcomes and it will be analyzed statistically. Conclusion: Conclusion will be drawn from the result obtained.
