Abstract

ADVANCED ORAL CONTROLLED DRUG DELIVERY APPROACHES

ABSTRACT

Oral dosage form is the most common and popular route of administration due to its ease of drug administration and ease to store and formulate. However, due to the path it follows in average only half is able to reach the systemic circulation. Hence, the oral controlled drug delivery and advanced oral controlled drug delivery becomes the need of the hour. The controlled drug delivery approaches are the kind of formulation which protect and release the formulation in the desire place at desire time to maintain drug level in the body. However, Advanced controlled oral drug delivery refers to the development of novel drug delivery systems that can effectively control the release of drugs over an extended period of time. These systems can improve the efficacy and safety of drug therapy by maintaining optimal drug concentrations in the body, reducing dosing frequency, and minimizing side effects. Like the extended release tablets, targeted drug delivery, more accurate and precise in delivering of drug and reduced side effects.
