Abstract

ANTI-OXIDANT PROPETY OF PVFC – EXTRACTS IN A ROLE OF WEIGHT LOSS AGAINST HIGH FAT DIET INDUCED OBESITY IN RATS

ABSTRACT

Polyherbal extracts are used to manage obesity based on the ayurvedic formulations. Herbal extracts prepared by using highly rich anti-oxidants in medicinal plants and food such as plants, fruits, vegetables, cereals as decoction. Based on the anti-oxidant rich property of extracts to reduce free radicals to ensure the anti-obesity and hypo-lipidemic activity. The activity of PVFC extracts were orally bio-screened in a high fat diet induced obese albino rats at 200 mg/kg/bw and 400mg/kg/bw. body mass index was calculated one per week for a four weeks and also blood samples were collected and tested lipid profile analysis every week and for four weeks. Those extracts contained various phytochemical constituents such as Tannins, Saponins, Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Steroids, Phenols, Vitamins and Catechins therefore validate using of afore mentioned plants in the suppression of obesity and their use for management of obesity is recommended. The present study was to determine the anti-obesity property of PVFC material using high fat diet induced obese young wistar albino rats.
