Dr. Ashok Kumar Lakhran* and Dr. Mita Kotecha

ABSTRACT

The body is made up of several Srotas, they are in charge of both the preservation of health and the treatment of disease. The Srotas is a vital element of the body that acts as a conduit for transporting substances from one location to another. The body’s Annavaha Srotas transports food that is undergoing chemical and biological alterations as well as metabolism. Food stays in this intricate route till it is digested. Annavaha Srotas have been linked to the digestive system or gastrointestinal tract by some authorities. However, this viewpoint does not appear to be valid. Annavaha Srotas is represented by the first half of the alimentary canal. The underlying cause of this Srotas-related ailments is Agnimandya. Pathogenesis progresses indistinct Srotas according to the illness. However, some disorders, such as Ajirna, Amlapitta, Adhmana, Krimi, Alasaka, Grahani, Bhasmaka, Sula Udavarta, Visuchika, Parinamashula, Arochaka, Chardi, etc. have pathogenic components mostly located in Annavaha Srotas. Disorders caused by vitiation of Annavaha Srotas should be treated in the same way as Amapradosha is treated as a result Deepana (fire-inducing medicines, metabolism-inducing medications and therapies, appetizers) and Pachana (digestants and Ama-depleting medicines) should be used.

Keywords: Annavaha Srotas is represented by the first half of the alimentary canal.
