A REVIEW OF KSHARA KARMA IN AYURVEDA
Dr. Debabrata Acharjee*, Dr. Sukesh A. and Dr. Manjunatha Bhat
ABSTRACT Shalyatantra places a high value on kshara karma.[1] With Aushadha, Kshara, Agni, Raktavasechana, and Shastradikriyas, the Shalyatantra treats a variety of ailments. According to this order, subsequent treatment processes are chosen based on upashaya-anupashaya; hence, ksharakarma1 is a much more significant treatment to continue after the medical treatment. Kshara is the primary treatment of choice in the same situations. Shalyasastra uses ksharakarma[1] as a parasurgical therapy method. Since Kshara contains a variety of components, it has the power to reduce and normalise the three co-morbidities that make up Tridosha, which are present in our bodies. Ksharakarma is the main type of therapy used in all sastra-anusastra karma, according to Susruthacharya. Vagbhattacharya explained that in situations when surgery (Shalya kriya) is not appropriate, it may be handled with Ksharakarma chikitsa; even in Ati-kriccha roga, Paniya Kshara is appropriate. Kshara karma includes Kshara patana, Kshara varti, Ksharasutra therapy, Kshara Avaleha[5] etc which are having tremendous actions in Surgical as well as Parasurgical field. Keywords: .
