STUDY OF VANGA BHASMA IN RELATION TO ITS’ PHYSICO – CHEMICAL PROPERITIES" (AN AYURVEDIC PREPARATION)

ABSTRACT

Vanga bhasma is an Ayurvedic formulation used for various diseases like prameha, krimi, pandu, mutrakricha, shewta pradara etc. Since ancient time. Vanga bhasma drug contained mainly tin as a tin oxide. In present study jarit vanga is triturated with kumari swarasa subjected to heat for 12 putas with recording of temperature. To ensure the quality of bhasma test like Apunarbhav pariksha, niruttha pariksha, rekhapurna pariksha, variter pariksha & unam pariksha etc was done. Modern analytical test moisture content, ICP-AES (Inductively coupled plasma – atomic emission spectrometry), XRD, SEM, TGA conducted physio chemical properties of vanga bhasma.
