Abstract

STUDY ON VARIOUS METHODS OF FORMULATION OF NIOSOMES AND ITS EVALUATION PARAMETERS

Raghvendra Chauhan*, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Malik, Surendra Singh Parihar and Abhishek Kushwaha

ABSTRACT

Niosomes are vesicles composed of synthetic nonionic surfactants that may be produced by hydration with or without the addition of cholesterol or lipids. They are vesicular systems that can be utilised to transport both amphiphilic and lipophilic pharmaceuticals, much like liposomes. Niosomes are a non-ionic vehicle for drug administration with several positive attributes: they are biodegradable, biocompatible, non-immunogenic, and structurally characterised in a variety of ways. Niosomes have been studied extensively for their potential to cure cancer, viral infections, and other microbial disorders by controlled release and focused delivery. Both hydrophilic and lipophilic medicines are amenable to entrapment by niosomes, which may therefore increase the drug's half-life and so increase the duration of the drug's circulating blood concentration. A drug's time in the systemic circulation, its penetration into the target tissue, and its potential toxicity may all be improved by encapsulation in a vesicular system. The benefits, drawbacks, techniques of production, influencing variables, characterizations, in-vitro procedures, drug release kinetics, and applications of noisome are discussed in this study.
