ABSTRACT
Aquaculture for shrimp and other sectors continuously needs to develop new methods to boost output yield. The use of contemporary technologies and other scientific disciplines like biotechnology and microbiology could result in the production of more and better-quality goods. In aquaculture, feeding and innovative farming techniques typically play a significant role. To promote greater growth, many producers of fish and shrimp feed a various additives to balanced feed formulas. Prawn is one of the major consumption sea foods around the world. Because of some bacterial and viral infection, which cause
major economical lose to farmers and also impacting on demand and supply chain. One of the major diseases which is caused by some of gram-negative bacteria is vibrio. Vibrio is one of the common organisms available in all of the organisms, mostly are non-pathogenic. But some of the vibrios like Vibrio spp. (i.e., V. harveyi, V. vulnificus, V. anguillarum, V. splendidus, V. alginolyticus, V. nereis, V. parahaemolyticus, V. damsela, V. tubiashi, V. fluvialis) destroying major parts of the shrimp it leads to death. It is difficult to eliminate vibrio completely because easy availability in the nature and it also impact on the natural ecosystem. The necessity of development of medicines and preventive measures are very important in this area. Which include vaccination, boosting the immune system of shrimps with probiotics, developing standard protocol for prawn culture to avoid common problem encountering, development of herbal medicines which have low or negligible amount of side effects, water management. instrumentation is also one of the important areas to prevent and manage vibrio. Development of vaccines with combination of probiotics are gives the more effective results in the shrimp. This review provides some guidance and information on the bacterial infection caused by vibrio in shrimp to the researchers to develop medicines or some preventive actions on the vibrio bacteria.
