SIGNIFICANCE OF SROTAS IN PRESENT SCENARIO

ABSTRACT
Ayurvada is based on Triguna, Tridosh, Saptadhatu, Oja, Agni, Ama and Srotas. Tridosh is the pillar of the body. Srotas are the internal transport system of the body. There are innumerable Srotas are present in the body represent infinite element in the universe. According to Charak Samhita Srotas is the structure through which Sarvanam occurs. The internal transport system of the body is represented by Srotas and has been given a place of fundamental importance in Ayurveda both in health and disease an importance which recent development in the field of medicine have begun to emphasis. Acharya Chakrapani has described Moolasthan of Srotas as Pravhav Sthana
means the anatomical seat of respective Srotas, main seat of pathology of that Srotas or principle seat of manifestation of diseases of that Srotas. Simply Srotas are the transport system which transport Dosha, Dhatu and mala, therefore it is more important in clinically. The Srotas are recognized by surgeons as having regard to traumatic injuries as may be inflicted on them or due to piercing them during surgical manipulation with sharp instruments. The special kind of pain and disease are manifested due to Srotodrushti, therefore it is important to gain knowledge about disease, prognosis of disease as well as to treat the root cause of the disease.
