A REVIEW ARTICLE ON PANDU W.S.R.T ANAEMIA

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda Acharyas described Pandu vyadhi with its own pathogenesis and treatment according to the Modern science; it can be co-related with Anaemia. In 2019, global anaemia prevalence was 39.8% (95% UI 36.0%, 43.8%) in children aged 6-59 months, equivalent to 269 million children with anaemia. The prevalence of anaemia in children under five was highest in the African Region, 60.2% (95% UI 56.6%, 63.7%). It is important to search scientific reason behind the disease. Anaemia is defined as reduced quantity of red blood cells or haemoglobin which in turn causes pale skin. Due to improper food habits and changing lifestyle plays an important role in the manifestation of various diseases. This article presents the Ayurvedic
concept of Pandu Roga(Anaemia).
