EFFICIENCY OF AYURVEDA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF “SHVITRA”

ABSTRACT

Vitiligo is an acquired cutaneous disorder characterized by white patches, surrounded by areas of normal pigmentation. It is more common in tropics and in blacks. We can correlate vitiligo with Shvitra in ayurveda. Ayurveda offers a lot of potential when it comes to treating autoimmune skin disorders. The ayurvedic approach to autoimmune disease treatment focuses on restoring balance and boosting natural immunity. Material and method- A 35-year male patient was come to the OPD of Kayachikitsa, Quadra Institute of Ayurveda Roorkee Haridwar Uttarakhand, with complain of itching, dryness, burning sensation and white patches appeared on lips, upper back and foot. After sometime white patches also appeared near umbilical region and left toe. These complaints were presenting for the last one year. This condition can be understood as Shvitra, treatment including with some medicine course of 6 months. Result- There were significant improvements in the condition of the patient.
