ABSTRACT
A young adolescent girl was mentioned in this cross-sectional study. She was a resident of Vijayawada, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, India. Krishna district is located at 16010’N latitude and 81008’ E longitude. It is a cross-sectional record-based study after examining the case reports and observations of medical records during the period of June, 2021 to January, 2023. Ureteropelvic junction obstruction is a condition where blockage occurs at the junction where the ureter attaches to the kidney. This results in a decreased flow of urine down the ureter and an increase in fluid pressure inside the kidney. Increased pressure inside the kidney can, over time, cause deterioration of kidney function. High fever; negative RT-PCR report; and CT-KUB revealed gross right hydronephrosis with thinned-out renal parenchyma. Left ovarian cyst, left mild hydronephrosis. Her Hb% was 11.51gm/dL, her WBC count was 6260 cells/cumm, and her PCV was 35.67%.Gross right Hydronephrosis with thinned-out renal parenchyma. Cystoscopy done 23 June, 2021.Subject was followed up thoroughly, and we have discussed the clinical presentation, optimum treatment and clinical outcomes of PUJO in adolescent with congenital renal anomalies.
Keywords: Pelvic-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) congenital renal anomalies pyeloplasty, renal parenchyma, renal function.
