Abstract

HERBAL DRUG USED IN THE TREATMENT OF DENGUE

ABSTRACT

Dengue is an acute viral illness caused by RNA virus of family Flaviviridae and spread by aedes mosquito. A cute-onset high fever. Muscle & joint pain myalgia. Cutaneous rash, hemorrhagic episode & circulatory shock are the commonly seen symptoms. Infection caused by any of virus serotype (DEN 1, DEN 2, DEN 3, DEN 4). Although Dengue is not endemic in the continental United State. Hawaii or Alaska, more than 500 laboratory positive cases of introduction dengue were reported from 1977 through 1994 in U. S resident who visit dengue endemic area thought out the world. According to WHO, is one of the mosquito-borne viral disease that poses high medical burden in many regions worldwide recently Before 1970. Limited number of countries reported severe dengue epidermic with the first epidemic described in 1635 in the West India In 1779-80 the first confirmed, report outbreak of the dengue fever occurred almost simultaneously in Asia, North America & Africa.[1]
