Abstract

A CONTROLLED CLINICAL STUDY OF RAKTAAMALAKI RASAYANA AND BOLA PARPATI IN ASRIGDARA

ABSTRACT

Asrigdara is a broad term and includes most of the diseases with cardinal symptom of heavy bleeding per vaginum. It is highly prevalent gynaecological disease and can be corelated to Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding. In Modern Science DUB is treated with hormonal therapy which has many side effects like cardiovascular problems. Keeping this in mind herbomineral drug Rakta Amalaki Rasayana is selected for the study which is safe and cost effective. Objectives: Detailed study of Asrigdara w.s.r DUB, to evaluate the efficacy of Rakta Amalaki Rasayana in the management of Asrigdara. Methodology: A randomised controlled clinical study consisting of two groups, with 20 patients in each group were selected. Group A was given trial drug Rakta Amalaki Rasayana 375 mg BD in the form of capsule with milk for two consecutive menstrual cycle starting from 3rd day of menstruation in each cycle till bleeding stops or maximum upto 7 days. Group B was given Bol Parpati 375mg in the form of capsule with Madhu for 2 consecutive menstrual cycles starting from 3rd day of menstruation in each cycle till bleeding stops or maximum upto 7 days. Result: The study showed that the Bola Parpati is more effective as compared to Rakta Amalaki Rasayana in reducing the symptoms of Asrigdara at the end of treatment. Conclusion: Based on the observation both the groups showed significant results statistically.
