CARICA PAPAYA: A SYMPATHETIC AND DETAILED REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Since a long time ago, the papaya (Carica papaya Linn.) has been appreciated for both its nutritional and therapeutic benefits. It functions as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic, antibacterial, abortifacient, vermifuge, hypoglycemic, antihelmenthic, and immunomodulatory, among other things. Worldwide, papaya is well known for its nutritional and therapeutic benefits. The papaya plant has many edible and medicinal elements, including roots, leaves, peels, fruits, and seeds. A wealth of research is available describing the biomedical applications of various papaya plant components, making papaya a prized nutraceutical plant. Effective pharmacological properties of the plant include anti- inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic, antibacterial, abortifacient, hypoglycemia, antifungal, antihelmenthic and immunomodulatory, hepatoprotective and anticonvulsant action.
