FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF MULTIHERBAL MOISTURISING HAIR CONDITIONER

ABSTRACT
Nowadays there is rapid increase of consumers who choose herbal products because of its limited side effects and increased efficacy. So an attempt has made been to formulate herbal hair conditioner. To develop herbal conditioner, medicinal agent (custard apple powder, guava leaves powder) was used in the form of extract and garden cress seeds in form of mucilage. Other excipients like aloe vera, glycerine, cetyl alcohol, citric acid, coconut oil, almond oil, rose oilwere selected due to their established conditioning and moisturizing properties. The combination of several such ingredient of herbal origin has made it possible to secure highly effective hair conditioner. The formulation at laboratory scale was done and evaluated on the basis of various organoleptic and physiochemical characters like pH, cleansing action, wetting time and viscosity. Based on the results obtained it can be concluded that the formulated conditioner holds good.
