ABSTRACT
The purpose of this article is whole study of buccal patches. Buccal patch is an insoluble, modified-release dosage form with a thin matrix consisting of one or more polymeric films or layers containing the drug and /or other excipients. Buccal patches have become an attractive area for new drug delivery systems because buccal dosage forms must be non-irritating, small, and flexible enough to be taken by the patient. This review summarizes of buccal patch includes introduction, types, advantages and disadvantages of the buccal patch, limitations, ease of use of the buccal patch, polymer used, manufacturing process, and evaluation.
