ABSTRACT
Cancer is one of the major leading causes of death globally. Cancer therapy includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy but it is having many disadvantages such as multiple drug resistance, cytotoxicity, and several limitations. Nanoparticles have made a revolution in cancer treatment as their surface characteristics, optimal size, and shape improve biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, and biocompatibility. Also, the Phyto nanotechnology has enhanced the delivery of bioactive plant-based anticancer agents such as vinca alkaloids, taxanes, podophyllotoxin, and others. Novel silver nanoparticles are also used as an anticancer drug carrier system. We will examine the following topics in this review, crucial roles of nanotechnology, Phyto nanotechnology, and silver nanoparticles for drug delivery in cancer diseases.
Keywords: Cancer, Conventional chemotherapy, Mechanism, Nanotechnology, Silver nanoparticles, Anticancer Agents.
