SAPODILLA: A PHYTOCONSTITUENTS AND PHARMACOLOGICAL-REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Nature has blessed us with a Wounderful flore and fauna, which had made our life Beautiful. One those wonders is a sapodilla fruits. Sapodilla fruits having sweet taste. Sapodilla having various name of different countries, like India-Chikoo, Brazil-sapoti, Thiland-lamoot, West Indies-Neseberry, Indonesia- sawu etc. Sapodilla is one of the major fruits crop in India. It is an very important member of sapotaceae family. It having various classes of phytoconstituents such as Tannins, Flavonoids, Alkaloids, phenols, steroids, glycoside, Carbohydrate, amino acid, mineral, triterpenoids, fixed oil etc. The
present study state that the sapodilla is broadly studied for its various pharmacological activities like, anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, anti-diabetic, anti-fungal, anti-cancerous, anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, hypocholesterolemic, anti-diarrhoeal activity. This Review paper will surely as an important source for the future scientific investigation on the plant.
