Alrawi Rakhad*, Al-Rawi Rafal and A.A. Al-Rawi

ABSTRACT

Climate change is a significant threat to the human health worldwide. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive effects of climate change related health impacts, to have better understanding of the risks climate change presents to human health. The impacts of human-induced climate change are increasing all over the world. Rising greenhouse gas concentrations result in increases in temperature, changes in precipitation, increases in the frequency and intensity of some extreme weather events. These climate change impacts endanger human health by affecting food and water sources, as well as the air we breathe. As the climate continues to change, the risks to human health continue to grow. Already scientists have observed climate-related increases in exposure to elevated temperatures; degraded air quality; diseases transmitted through food, water, and disease vectors (such as ticks and mosquitoes); and stresses to mental health and well-being. Almost all of these threats are expected to be worsening with continued climate change. Furthermore, Changes in climate and climate variability, particularly changes in weather extremes, affect the environment that provides human with clean air, food, water, shelter, and security. The fact that the Earth has warmed over the last century is evident.
