Abstract

EVALUATION OF HYPOLIPIDEMIC ACTIVITY OF LEAVES EXTRACT OF CRATAEGUS PENTAGYNA PLANT

ABSTRACT

The aim of present investigation was to evaluate the Phytoconstituents, total Phenolic, total flavonoid contents and Invivo Antihyperlipidemic activity, of Crataegus pentagyna. Phytochemical analysis of the plant showed the presence of most of the phytochemicals, for alkaloids, glycosides, Diterpenes, saponins, flavonoids and phenol contents. The results indicated that the methanolic extract of Crataegus pentagynaon high fat induced hyper lipidemia may be attributed to a decrease in cholesterol synthesis and increase in cholesterol excretion.
