ADVERSE DRUG REACTION (ADR) MONITORING AND PHARMACOVIGILANCE

ABSTRACT

The need for systematic follow-up of adverse drug reactions is now widely recognized once the drug is in common use. Developing countries like India have also initiated national pharmacovigilance programs to monitor adverse drug reactions. In its first year, this program was primarily intended to promote a culture of his ADR reporting among medical professionals. As part of the Healthcare team, each pharmacist must have knowledge of her Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring System and her Pharmacovigilance.
