MICROWAVE ASSISTED PREPARATION OF HERBAL FORMULATION FROM CROTON BONPLANDIANUM AND ITS ANTI MOSQUITO ACTIVITY

ABSTRACT

Herbal preparations are one of the main components of Ayurveda, one of India's traditional medical systems. Herbal medicines are present worldwide. Today, people are turning to natural herbal medicines again, claiming they are safer. As we know mosquito spared many harmful disease such as Malaria, Dengue, Chikungumya etc. Than mosquito repellent plant can help to prevent these diseases. On the other hand it will provide ecofriendly mosquito repellent or herbal mosquito repellent. In present investigations mosquito repellent experiment was carried out, for this leaf paste of Croton was used with different solvents as water, alcohol, oil and glycerin. This study have been aimed to evaluated a herbal formulation containing extract from the leaves of Croton bonplandianum on female mosquitoes of Anopheles stephensi which was prepared by using the microwave technique.
