ABSTRACT

Aggressive Periodontitis”is a disease of periodontium which is rapidly progressive in nature occurring in an otherwise healthy individual. We need to understand the etiological risk factors involved in this diseases process. A thorough diagnosis both clinically and radiographically will help in early identification of the disease. The aim of the present review is to through light into the details of this disease-clinical, microbiological, immunological, genetic and environmental aspects of pathogenesis as well as diagnostic criteria of the disease and appropriate nonsurgical and surgical treatment options needed to treat the condition.
