Abstract

A PHARMACEUTICAL STUDY ON PRATHAPABHAIRAVA RASA

ABSTRACT

Rasoushadhis (herbo mineral preparations) got their own importance because of their smaller dose and quicker effectiveness etc. The Pratapabhairava Rasa is one such Rasoushadhi mentioned in Atisara adhyaya of Rasa Jala Nidhi text containing Shudha Hingula, Shudha Gandhaka, Shudha Tankana, Shudha Vatsanabha and Trikatu Churna which is indicated in Atisara (Diarrhoea), Kasa (Cough), Swasa (Dysponea), Grahani (IBS), Sannipataja Vikaras, Apasmara (Seizures), Vataja Vikaras (disorders of vata), Ajeerna (Indigestion) and Agnimandya (poor appetite) disorders.
