APPLICABILITY OF CHAMPAK AGAD IN THE MANAGEMENT OF CHIKUNGUNYA– CONCEPTUAL STUDY

ABSTRACT

Chikungunya is caused by an arbovirus and transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquito. The virus responsible for Chikungunya is alpha virus, which is transmitted through the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is active only in the daytime. High fever and arthritic pain, especially severe pain on extremities is characteristic of Chikungunya fever. In allopathic, there is no treatment of this disease, treatment is based on the symptom.[1] A few of signs and symptoms of Keeta visha seems to be like a few from Chikungunya. Chikungunya is spread by Aedes mosquito bite and according to Aacharya Sushruta mosquito is a type of Keeta.[2] Champak Agad is used in all types of Keeta visha treatment.[3] The contents of Champak Agad has antipyretic, painkiller, anticoagulant, antiemetic etc properties. So Champak Agad can be helpful to reduce symptoms of Chikungunya.
