A CASE STUDY: AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENTS OF AAMVATA

ABSTRACT
Now a days Aamvata is one of the commonest disease. It occurs due to impairment of Agni, production of Ama (bio-toxin), & vitiation of vata Dosha. Amavata can be co-related with Rheumatoid arthritis due to similarity of clinical features: Acharya Chakradatt given the way to treat Aamvata. Present case study is of 53 years old female patient suffering from multiple joints pain with swelling, B/L leg tingling numbness, Deviation of B/L metacarpophalangeal joints, neck pain, morning stiffness, body ache, restricted joints movement since past 15 years, diagnosed as Aamvata. Combination of interventions including shaman chikitsa (deepan pachan), vaitaran basti along with
Dhanvantar tail matra basti, Ark patra bandhan, Jalaukavcharan, janupichu with Mahavishgarbha tail, Lepan, bruhan upanah. The assessment was made on the basis of relief in sign & symptoms. Result showed prognosis improve as treatment is introduced as per treatment protocol.
