PHARMACEUTICO-ANALYTICAL STUDY ON MANJISHTADI TAILA AND DEVELOPMENT OF ITS NEW DOSAGE FORM INTO LOTION

ABSTRACT

Time has come to revisit a few of our dosage form with modification and addition of new in it. These changes are essential due to evolution in human being and lifestyle adopted by the masses in the present era. In the present study Manjishtadi taila was taken, which is depicted in Bhaishajya Ratnavali Kshudra roga chikitsa, mainly indicated in vyanga and twak –vaivarnya. This Sneha yoga is converted into new dosage form, a Lotion which is a conventional method, better in performance and also popular with the consumers. So oil can get converted into lotion, that will increase the easiness to use the medicine and can be more pleasing to the mind by application rather than the oil. So with this perspective, where lotion can be taken as an alternative to application of oil by the consumers in regard of its easy adaptability and feasibility the study was undertaken.
