FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT OF POLYHERBAL GEL FOR ARTHRITIC DISEASES

ABSTRACT

After post covid-19 situation so many people were suffered with auto immune disorders, one of that is Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the chronic inflammation of synovial joints which results in severe bone destruction. It affects approximately 5 million people worldwide of which 50% are unable to work beyond 20 years of diagnosis. Presently herbal medicines are mostly preferred for the treatment of chronic diseases because of less side effects. Herbal drug formulations mostly contains plants and their species that are being extracted by different extraction processes, that are somehow safe for use. In the present piece of work it has been planned to prepare poly herbal gel for rheumatic disorders containing zinger, cardioseprmum halicacabum and vitex Negundo/Nirgudi. With synthetic gel base like carbopol, propylene glycol, triethanolamine etc, Prepared gel was evaluated for various physicochemical properties like Ph, viscosity, spreadability, extrudability, physical appearance, in vitro diffusion study was also carried out by using france diffusion cell.
